Andrew & Grace Home

This entry is purely to Thank God for his grace and mercy in my life this far! I would not be here if He has not sustained me. I have undergone many lessons in life - lost of power, humility, loss of loved ones and physically been hit many many times!

Yeps, that's how complex my background is. I wish it wasn't the case but it happens to be so. That's why I strongly advocate the AG Home practices of protecting young girls' lives and making them into powerful instruments for God to use! Pastor Andrew's work has touched lives and made a difference! And this world is a slightly better place with people like him and his wife - Sis Grace.

The AG Home has found a new residing place to continue its good work @ 6A Mattar Road. I prayed so hard yet had such a nagging thought at the back of my head, hoping they did not have to close down due to lack of a place to house the 80 girls.

80 very special girls that come from similar or worse background as I do, girls with a past who do not want to be judged yet be embraced and seen for who they are in the Lord and how capable they actually are! I am fortunate that despite the complications of my family, I still got a place to call home, some of these girls don't.

Girls who have to go thru all sorts of hardships, monthly periods, giving birth and all that jazz... I think its not easy to be a girl. So Kudos to all of them at AG Home, be it by choice or not, they are all trying to improve and make a diff.
I Thank God that they have the chance to know Him and call Him their own. And for His Providence...

Thank God

This is one of the nicest mails I have seen and is so true: I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels.

My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received." I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section. The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them."
I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. "This is the Aknowledgment Section," my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed "How is it that? There's no work going on here?" I asked. "So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments.

"How does one acknowledge God's blessings?" I asked. "Simple," the angel answered. "Just say, "Thank you, Lord." "What blessings should they acknowledge?" I asked. If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. "If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish,
you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

"And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity." Also..... "If you woke up this morning with more health than illness .... you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.

"If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation .. you are ahead of 700 million people in the world. "If you can attend a church meeting without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world.

"If your parents are still alive and still married .. you are very rare. If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair." Ok, what now? How can I start?

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you want, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

Attn: Acknowledge Dept - Thank You Lord! "Thank you Lord, for giving me the ability to share this message and for giving me so many wonderful people to share it with ". Amen?

Little Chicken OR Chicken & Little??

Proverbs 11:2 (New International Version)
" When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom." I shall apologise here to a particular group of peeps, for the way the situation turned out, even thou I am under tremendous stress and my head is on the line.

By far and large, men needs their face and ego more than women do. So are they Little "Chickens" or Chicken & Little in their actions?

DUMB

What do you call a day where everyone is out to make it that much harder and irritate you? Pour cold water when you are having the toughest day...when you feel like bursting out screaming: GO AWAY!!!!!! I am up till my head in deadlines before the Holidays descend? When people you think love you and care for you decide to suan you???????????????????
This DAY is DECLARED as STUPID MEN DAY!!!!!! Cos all the men in my life are dumb right now. Not a single one is being normal nor nice at all. Not an ounce.... considering the effort I am putting in to balance work, rehearsals, planning parties for friends and meeting my reporter friends..... The men don't get it and they think they are apt at wearing many hats the way a woman can!!!!
FINE! Go ahead and wear lor. See how much pressure you can take before you all come running to some woman in your life to pour out to.
Irritants!!!! I am so hurt lah! Its not jokes when it hurts.
HATE MEN DAY!

Pump up the Punk, For the Munk is in da House!!!

Food Review - Delifrance

Chocolate Drink - Yummy! 4 out of 5 Stars

Mango Panna Cotta... 2.5 Stars out of 5 (lacklustre panna cotta filling)

This is random dining... with one of my friends. Decided to feedback here about the food @ Delifrance. I happen to be a Panna Cotta and Creme Brulee lover but the Panna Cotta at Delifrance is truly disappointing. If you want cheap yet great Panna Cotta, try it @ the Anchorpoint Food Court's Italian Pasta Stall which serves authentic Panna Cotta for a mere $2.50 I think. Hee~~

Confirmation... after 6 very fast months

Guess where I went for Dinner last evening?

This Calamasi Drink is worth the $4... 5 stars out of 5 as it is freshly squeezed

You Tiao (Fritters with Sotong Filling) - 3.5 Stars out of 5

Quayside Signature Fried Rice - 4 out of 5 Stars (Lots of Fresh Prawns & Peeled)

Oatmeal Prawns - 3 stars out of 5 as prawns as not as fresh as I would want it

Beancurd in Claypot - 4 out of 5 stars (tons of mushroom)

I dunno if its just me or what, but 6 months just flew by real quick and thats fantastic! I am confirmed in my job already, officially today. Glad to have a boss that is understanding, supportive, trusts me and way nice. Only shortcoming is I have is to be on time when I get to work. But no worries there, I have been and I vastly improved in this area already.

Anyways, my baby was so sweet lah, he took me out to celebrate last night, the eve of my confirmation, he was saying at the rate I am going, I am doing all the things right and work attitude is right so it should be a smooth-sailing one for me.

So he took me to Quayside Seafood @ Clarke Quay. Oh yea... it was swell! I super SK lah (Sua Ku)... too long did not go hang out at Clarke Quay till I do not remember much of the area at all. It has changed 180deg lah (since my Sec school days).

We had great food there. Thou no crabs........ but I had plenty of prawns and service there is really the works! If you have a client to entertain or a family party to organise... Quayside would be the place to bring them to. Rather good food, awesome ambience, service is truly worth the price you pay for and just the liveliness of the entire get-up makes it a joy to dine in.

Its alfresco dining so if it rains, it maybe inconvenient and chilly but the view is soothing! Nothing like seafood dinner by the "bay" (clarke quay isn't exactly a bay but a river). Soak up the smell of the 'seabreeze' anyone??? Heee......

Interesting...

Hey Peeps!

The LIGHT MOMENT is like another 48 hours away! Have you called a friend to come along? I tried but most are strapped with programs of their own already... sianz. Anyways, I am still looking forward to it.

Incidentally I saw this really cool sign outside TANGS @ Vivo the other day. And YEPS, I am totally in the Christmas mood! Jingle Bells...jingle bells..... lalalalalalalalalallalalaaaa..... Happy...oh happy day.... drowning in happiness.

My dept held a Xmas Party today... did not go as well as I want it to but Thank God for great colleagues to rally around me. It went as candidly perfect as it can get.

It was so funny. We got excitied, laughed, exchanged gifts, smiled a lot and then walloped the food. Hee! Will post pics in my next few entries... if i remember to.

OH HAPPY DAY!!!!!

Spainish 2 Dream

White Dog Madness.... savoir!
Seafood Medley - w/normal pasta (in spicy sweet Olio sauce) - BAGUS!

EL's Lychee Jelly Drink... Colourful Lor

Berry Banana Drink... those are not pearls..they are berries

Clam Chowder @ White Dog (3.5 Stars out of 5)

Chicken Consumme @ Bakerzin

Mushroom Soup @ Bakerzin

I was invited to attend an uber cool function yesterday over @ Vivo City. Went there with my colleague EL. The function was about Spain and the 1st Anniversary of the SPAIN 2 DREAM section over at Vivo.

The function was quite interesting and I love Spain even thou I have not been there but impression of the place is THUMBS up if based on the "Discovery Travel & Living" section shows that I have been watching.

I want to go tour Europe perhaps 5 years after getting married. I will plan out a superb itinery for me and my better half.... hehehehee... lucky for him!

Anyways, before the event started, EL and I decided to have something light at Bakerzin.. but to my dismay, the soup I was looking forward to tasting 'Chicken Consumme' Soup - it totally SUCKS BIG TIME!!!! It gets a mere 1 star out of 5 stars from me, cos it had so MUCH MSG!!!! YUCKS yucky... Yikes!!!! Puiiiii...

Anyways, EL ordered their mushroom soup which is always good.. I approve that one. Mushroom soup at Bakerzin gets 3 stars out of 5 stars from me.

Then we shared a mushroom burgette. Which was nice... in fact, tangy and QQ thru to every bite as the mushrooms were fresh. That burgette deserves a 3.5 stars out of 5.

Afterwhich we both attended the chi-chi function, the tapas served were interesting but I adored the onion & potato tapas & Salmon on french bread...the rest had some funny look which I dared not to try... EL tried one that looked like mini Chinese Sausage wrapped in "bread" pastry. Which turned out oily.... EEeeeeeee....

Btw, tapas are mini items or what we Singaporeans would call "finger food" which tend to have more savouries served than sweet toppings. They are smaller versions of Canapes.

After the speech, we decided we had enough so we headed for a real meal at WHITE DOG cafe on the 2nd floor. I was impressed with the ambience, maybe its the rain or the good company or both but it made the place feel cosy.

The plush sofa seats and soft lighting also helped. Moreover, their menu prices are quite affordable.... about $15 - $20++ range. Service was impeccable... Daniel Ong the manager was quite attentive.

The waiter that lead us to our table was a funny dude.... he speaks in such an unusual manner and takes such pains to properly pronounce some words on the menu that I was controlling to ensure I did not burst out laughing.... He was like "SALad got soup specials in them.... " and EL and myself turned to each other and were puzzled. It was hilarious lah! I mean, what is Salad got soup specials????? Is that English to you??? Wah lau..... But it was funny

Actually what he meant was their specials of the day was this Lobster bisque soup and they have good salads if we want to try. *sweat drops here*

Actually White Dog cafe's signature is Pasta & their steaks (MUST TRY their Seafood Medley Pasta!!!! - 4 stars out of 5) which comes in either Squid Ink Pasta or a normal Penne / Linguine pasta with Spicy sweet Olio sauce.

We had their White Dog Madness Ice-cream dessert (4.5 stars out of 5 - i mean, how bad can ice-cream taste if you combine it properly)which was way jolly! I felt like a child having my ice cream even thou I was very full by the time I got to desserts cos I had their Berry Banana Smoothie (3.5 Stars out of 5) which was just right - the drink felt healthy yet sinful all at the same time.

EL had a Lychee Jelly drink which was a colourful and happy combi! She loved the drink.... but I don't like the Jelly, as this is particularly subjective, you just have to try the drink yourself to decide if you like it, I shall not comment here.

We were stuffed silly and slowly walked over to hitch a bus home thereafter. *gobsmack*

happy...oh happy Day!!!
Kisses,RL

My New Lunch Diet

Monday's Salad.... Look at the myriad of colours

I have been on a cool and awesome new diet - lovingly prepared by my honey bun! Its a healthy salad diet... uber cool too. I am so in love with the food I get to taste everyday... it aids to give both of us great skin as well, with the different stuff that goes into it.

There's capsicium, lettuce, potatoes, crabsticks, cherry tomatoes, egg, fruits, cucumber, ham, mayo, pasley flakes and bread crumbs.

I LOVE IT!!!! Absolutely loving it.... thou a tad not too filling but its better this way, cos coupled with exercise. Woohoo!! It will be a lethal combination in helping me skim off those extra inches which I have tons more to go!

I love it. You should try it too for a change! There's a lot of fiber too.

Smiles,
RL

Today

Crispy Baby Squid
Chilli Crabs - YUM

Mee Goreng - which Brad adored

Today has been most interesting, Brad (our friend from Korea) has decided to give us a farewell meal at JUMBO seafood gallery over at the Riverside Walk.

It was da BOMb!!! KS, AL, ZY, Chris, West, my baby and I were all invited. We had 2 Chilli Crabs (such extravagence... so sweet of Brad), Sambal Kangkong, Mee Goreng, You Tiao, Fried Baby Squids, Fried Man Tou, Scallop in Yam ring and Deer Meat... YUMMY-licious!!!!!!!!! But silly me was so raring to start eating I forgot to take photos of the delicious food - my bAd! (But I found some pics akin to the Crabs + Mee goreng we had)

Surprisingly, the deer meat was the one that was really good. I was shocked at how tender and tasty it was, I am eating it for the first time and probably will order more next time. I absolutely adore CRABS.... Crabs @ Jumbo is devastatingly tasty & fresh, the meat is soft and succulent and comes right off the shell without much effort. A must have!!

Oh ya, I just finished cutting my baby's hair... sadly this time round, I think a little too much was chopped off his back... he reminds me of Mr Potato in the Lau Fu Zi comic series. Heheheheee.... he sure is a man of faith. Oh well.

Love,
RL

Freedom and Boundaries

by Os Hillman Now the serpent was craftier than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?" - Genesis 3:1 God is big on giving man freedom and boundaries--freedom to manage what He has entrusted to us, boundaries to protect us from evil. The boundaries in the Garden of Eden were not set for the purpose of limiting Adam. Man got into trouble when he questioned those boundaries. God had provided everything he would need for life. He also entrusted man with responsibility to manage and work the Garden. God gave him freedom in that responsibility. God knows we were made to express ourselves creatively through our work. Each of us must have freedom and boundaries in our work life. Whenever you are hired for a job, you must have the freedom to make certain decisions. You must have the authority to manage things within your area of expertise. You must also have limits within your area of responsibility. You need to know where those limits are and stay within them. Both freedom and boundaries are always under the umbrella of God's authority and our authorities at work. Jesus understood these boundaries. When He was tempted for 40 days by the devil after being baptized, He was challenged by satan to go outside His freedom and boundaries. (See Matthew 4:1-11.) Satan said that He had the power to turn a stone into bread. Jesus was hungry and easily could have justified using His power to feed Himself. However, Jesus understood He could do nothing outside the boundaries of God's will for His life. It was God's will for Jesus to be tempted and to withstand the temptation. God was showing His Son that "man does not live on bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God" (Mt. 4:4b).You and I are tempted every day to go beyond our God-ordained boundaries. Whether it is solving financial problems that have arisen through debt, making wrong decisions due to pressure, or manipulating someone in order to achieve our ends, it all represents rebellion toward God.Ask God to show you His freedom and boundaries for your life. These are meant to enhance your life, not hinder it. Hope the message above has touched your heart. I am so pleased to discover that a little control would serve us all good.

FREE Starbucks Alert

PrimaDeli's Food Poisoning Case in ST today

Its terrible! Reports have been going that 106 have eaten contaminated chocolate cakes from PrimaDeli. Sources have also said its a bacteria that has manifested itself, thus leading to 6 persons being hospitalised. Thank God no one died!

It must be a PR nightmare to be handling this now and at the rate Prima is going, they ought to conduct a Press Conference and let the public know the next step they are taking and whether it could be a sabotage? Or are they firing the guy which started it all?

They ought to be accountable to the Public. It concerns their health and if nothing is said and done, in the long run, it will affect their brand name... unless they change brand name lah. Bleh... do not think that LC will allow them to change that. (LC is the GM there)

If they cannot handle the flak, hire a proper PR agency to do Crisis Management esp. if area of expertise is not there. This sort of money cannot save one, irritating!

I wish to see the look of "Buffalo's" (Buffalo refers to my Ex-boss)face man! Now to re-plan my Xmas Parties..... cos it did involve Prima to some extend. Sianz..

Love,
RL
